1. Have a clear title- Please, no titles like "anyone wanna trade?" Your title should either be something like "NYY Trade Block", which then lists players from NYY for trade, or "Albert Pujols for Trade" which would obviously be a block highlighted by Albert Pujols. Feel free to make a clever title, just make sure it's clear who you are and what you are selling.
And I swear to christ the first person that makes "NYY Trade Block" listing NYY players to be traded... but is the GM of another team and uses the excuse "BUT YOUR GUIDE SAID DO IT THIS WAY LOL" will get fucking stabbed.
2. Only list players you want to trade- DON'T MAKE A BLOCK FOR THEM IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO TRADE THEM FOR A GOOD OFFER. Now, I understand that people will often lowball you, or make bad offers for players simply because you post them on your trade block, but don't waste everyone's time by making a trade block if you wouldn't actually part with the listed players for a reasonable amount.
3. Be specific in what you want- None of this "offer me anything lolz" bullshit. You don't want ANYTHING, or you'd take the first 1.0 spec I offered. Please, tell us you are "looking for prospects of equivalent value, preferably a SP or 1B", or a "power hitting LF", or something of that nature.
4. When responding to trade blocks, make offers... good ones- I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to have the following conversation occur:
Poster posts block "Mike Trout on the block"
Responder "Hey, I want Mike Trout. Take a look at my team, who do you like?"
Poster (after scouting opposing team for 10+ minutes) "I like players A, B, C, D, and X. Would you do A, B, and one of C, D, or X for Trout?"
Responder "Oh, they're all unavailable, and so is anyone else of use on my team. Guess I didn't really want Trout after all. Bye!"
If you're gonna be that guy, please do everyone a favor and not respond to the block.
TL;DR be clear in what you want and don't expect something for nothing
